The Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) is your initial appointment with a family mediator which gives you the opportunity to find out how mediation works.

During this appointment you can discuss the issues that you would like to resolve in mediation, any concerns you have and to consider what options are available for resolving the issues concerned.

MIAMS are held individually, on line via Zoom.

The cost of a MIAM is £150 per person for 60 min

Mediation sessions are charged by the hour at £150 per person, per hour and will be billed to clients separately unless you ask us to make a different arrangement.

Mediation sessions last on average for an hour and a half and usually involves three to six sessions.

We do not charge for preparing for the sessions, or for writing letters / emails between sessions, but we do charge for the creation of any formal paperwork that may be produced in the course of the mediation at a rate of £150 per person per hour including the drafting of formal mediation summaries of proposals reached in mediation.

Again these costs are divided equally between the clients.

Principal Mediation operates as a private practice, we do not provide mediation services funded by legal aid.
